The Gallo Nero Restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes which are
a faithful reconstruction of the recipies found in medieval cookbooks.
However, the most significant connection of the Gallo Nero with the Middle
Ages is its location, an ancient fourteenth century building, just a few steps
from the Campo, along the original layout of the Via Francigena. Inside, the
tablecloth is white (the color was considered a symbol of purity which was
thought suitable for preparing the body for the meal), the stained-glass window
of the main dining room recalls, in technique and color, the great stained-glass
window of the choir of the Cathedral of Siena, which was made by Duccio di
Boninsegna in 1288.

Being one of the most elegant places in town, the restaurant Al Marsili
assures you peaceful hospitality, complete with bow-tied waiters and an
impeccable wine list, in a setting in the historical Sienese centre. You
may choose grand Tuscan cuisine from an "a la carte" menu guaranteed to
satisfy the most refined palate. Try scaloppine al dragoncello (veal scallops
with tomatoes and tarragon), or its signature dish, faraona alla Medici (meaty
guinea hen cooked with pine nuts, almonds, and prunes).

Le Logge is good choice for special nights out as well as for casual
lunches. It is offering an excellent cooking in a great Sienese atmosphere,
just off Il Campo. The taglierini al tartufo in a light butter sauce with
delicate flavor of the black truffles, carpaccio di pesce spada affumicato
(smoked swordfish) and ravioli stuffed with sheep's-milk cheese and mint in
a sauce flavored with port are only few in a long list of specialties.
Don't forget to make reservation, needed almost all the time.
